Sunday Shopping Spree

Woke up this morning with standard Amsterdam weather.. .. a grey day, but definitely not stopping me from my eagerness to step outside and SHOP!

My plan was to buy an H&M jacket which I saw last week and felt totally in love with. Unfortunately, it's not meant to be! As cool and beautiful as it is.. unfortunately doesn't suit me at all! :( The length of the arms is too long and the shoulders look weird on me! Super sad face but I had to move on..
So I said goodbye went to ZARA since I haven't been to ZARA at all this year. And VOILA! OMG... their collections are AMAZING... Can't help myself to score three outfits DIRECTLY!
Boyfriend Inspired Blazer
Golden Black/Flower Kimono Inspired Blazer
Geometric 80's Inspired Sweater

In general, I had to drag myself out from ZARA today.. if not, I might ended up spending A LOT of my salary's portion this month! PHEW.... but can't help it! THEY ARE ADORBS!

A Delightful Saturday in Amsterdam

Yesterday was definitely one of the days which makes me realise how LUCKY I am to be living in the wonderful city of Amsterdam! Truly, I haven't been enjoying Amsterdam that much in 2013. Just got back from Indonesia mid-January then off to London the weekend after, yesterday was truly my first ENJOYABLE saturday in Amsterdam.

First of all... who can deny the Beauty of the canals especially when snow started to fall..

To start my out and about in the city... I went to my usual coffee spot De Koffie Salon whilst waiting for my hubby to finish up his meeting.
Spotted on me yesterday:
Stepping out from De Koffie Salon, I cannot not stop by and check it out! It's my latest addiction and new eye candy.. MARCbyMARCJACOBS store at Utrechtsestraat.
Afterwards, we went to pick my parents in law who were in town yesterday to have a romantic weekend! I find it so sweet.. :) they are staying in The Floating Hotel. To make it better, I brought them to De Bakkerswinkel, my fave luncheon in Amsterdam.
I had a Quiche Lorraine and ofcourse, we had to order the amazing Scones! Yummm happy belly..... I definitely recommend De Bakkerswinkel if you stop by in Amsterdam and don't mind to wait a bit (unless you make reservation in advance) to do a high tea or just sit for a super nice lunch.

Missing out the 'alcohol', we all went straight to Wynand Fockink. Open in 1679, Wynand Fockink is one of the oldest liqueur tasting place in Holland. Never mind the busy tourists waiting in front of the bar not knowing what to order and not moving from their spot :), if you know what you want.. just walk straight and make your way through! It's one of the places you have to go for a liqueur try out in Amsterdam.
Being the good wife and a shopping advisor, I wouldn't miss the chance to go for a quick shop with my hubby who needed a new pair of pants badly. We went to Carhartt and he found such a good bargain!   He got himself a nice burgundy pants for only 44.50 euros..
To end our beautiful evening, we had a lovely dinner at Loetje. Though we had to wait for almost 40 minutes for a table (you can never reserve if it's under 6 people). It's SOOOO worthed! How can you not love the look of the steak :).
In overall, one successful weekend! And to end the amazing day.. we walked through Amstel at night. How can you not fall in love head over heels to Amsterdam.

Starting Up the New Year

Made a promise to myself that I'll be better with my blog starting from this year! Have to get rid off my laziness... :D and best way to start my first post is in regards to my AMAZING NEW YEAR BARGAINS!
1. French Connection Sparkling Cardigan
2. Balenciaga Leather Bracelet
3. Won Hundred Loafers

The first hunt was my Balenciaga bracelet. I've been wanting a leather bracelet for SOOOO LONG (either Balenciaga or Mulberry) and it was just there, just there..standing there waiting for me to buy it with 40% off. How can I say no..
Then I went on a shopping spree to London last weekend with my best friend (Keita) for our 30th birthday gift! Went around Oxford and stopped by at French Connection! Found this amazing peach sparkling cardigan which was on sale from 175 pounds into 31 POUNDS. How can I say No to that..! It looks Perfect, SUPER PERFECT for my going out that night. Which was ofcourse an AMAZING night! We met with our dear friend Alise who is now living and working in London.
Last but not least is my unexpected buying! After meeting up with some friends for dim sum, hubby and I went to check the new Marc by Marc Jacobs store (since I need to get iphone case for my iphone 5). Afterwards I made a quick stop at Centre Neuf to check their final sale before heading to one of my fave coffee place ..De Koffie Salon@Utrechtsestraat. There it was, such beautiful black loafers (I'm a sucker for black shoes .. and mostly MANLY shoes)! They are from WON HUNDRED and was on sale from 280 EUROS to 84 EUROS. Can you say No to that??? So though my feet are size 35 and the smallest is size 36, I don't care!! Put some paddings in.. and.. VOILA!
It's a good sign for a good year! and.. I'm back to the blogging life... :) :)

My Years of Waiting.. ACNE PISTOL BOOTS

OMG OMG OMG OMG FINALLY!!

I've been eye-ing Pistol Boots for so long .. it's quite hard to get for me since I need to have size 35! I've been to Acne stores and asked but I have to put myself in the WAITING LIST for size 35! urghh.. So I said to myself, I will put my name on the waiting list for my Birthday Present in November!

But..... HELLO NET-A-PORTER ... finally my prayers have been answered! Sale started yesterday (if you have not yet noticed, GO ONLINE QUICKLY!), I was super lucky since they have only couple of stocks on size 35.  It's like DESTINY, I've been wanting this specific pistol black with brown zipped for a while but I couldn't find it in the Amsterdam's store.. and the best part 40% OFF (I don't even care  that I'm paying 15 euros shipping cost) - even in ACNE website it's still FULL PRICE!

MY MONDAY COULD NOT BE BETTER!!

Next Post.. ME WEARING IT! :) :)

Celebrity Crush: Elizabeth Olsen

My most favorite Olsen of all time! Forget Mary Kate or Ashley, now it's the time for the other Olsen to rise, Elizabeth Olsen! Born February 16, 1989, Elizabeth is definitely one of the 'it' girls within the indie film industry. She raises to fame after playing in Martha Macy May Marlene, a role which gave her acknowledgements from film critics everywhere.

I find Elizabeth amazingly beautiful. Not following the trend in the Olsen's family of being 'boney' :), Elizabeth mentions herself that she's the 'curvy' one in the family and for me.. a role model for young girls to live as how a girl should live! Not becoming a SKELETON!
In addition to that, I love how Elizabeth brings herself in daily life and red carpet. Not trying to be bohemian (or most of the time like bum) or gothic as her sisters, Elizabeth sense of fashion is mainly in simplicity mode.
So.. can we steal her style??
Well I really like the look that she put on whilst walking in NYC. Wearing AG Adriano Goldschmied Legging Cords and  Chloe 'Angie' Medium Leather Tote, she looks ravishing! Only that most of us won't have the money to spend to imitate what she has that day (the bag and the jeans sum up to almost 2300 EUROS)! So as an option, here is my affordable stealing Elizabeth's look:

Blouse: Forever 21
Cropped biker jacket: Topshop
Skinny Jeans: Topshop
Hat: Forever 21
Shopper bag: Zara
Shoes: Fred de la Bretoniere

I can't wait to see more of her in the future and I believe it won't be the last time I'm writing about Elizabeth Olsen!

TOMS for the WORLD

Espadrille... is definitely not a stranger to ultimate spring/summer foot wear in Europe, but the brand TOMS is practically 'unknown'! Through my whole 10 days trip to the States, I got acquaintance to this remarkable brand and the story behind it!
I first noticed how this brand after spotting someone wearing it at least once every couple of hundred meters in the States and also from celebrities' trend.
And as I stopped by at Urban Outfitters, they have so many selections that you can choose from different colors! I gave up myself and in the end bought it after I had misfortune on my right feet (super huge blister from my sneakers)! This purchase was definitely one of the best decisions I've made during my trip! And I also hit the jackpot! I'm a size 5 and it's practically impossible to find TOMS in small size! I was so lucky to find a pair of size 5 in super cute yellow color (even the sales assistance at Urban Outfitters was so jealous of me since I managed to find one)! Truly I made it through my whole walking trip in NYC because of my TOMS, so COMFY and blister free!
The best thing about TOMS is that you are making a donation for every purchase that you're making! It's stated on the label that 'With every pair you purchase TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need'.

So the big question for the peeps in EUROPE, where can we GET TOMS!? So far, in Amsterdam I have not yet spotted any retail store yet that sells TOMS (I know for sure soon it will be huge since there has been coverage in Holland about TOMS) but some online retail store has already been selling TOMS although it's quite hard as they have been sold out everywhere (only big sizes available). But definitely try ASOS UK. They have quite some colors and collections available.

Myself personally, this will not be my only TOMS! I know for sure there will be more TOMS on the way........ such as these below ..

OMG.. .. I LOVE YOU TOMS!!

H&M Presents .. FASHION AGAINST AIDS 2012

Fashion can be used as a statement for good cause! And since 2008, H&M has been supporting the awareness towards AIDS/HIV by issuing the FASHION AGAINST AIDS collections. This year collection is mostly inspired by African tribal designs. Below you can find overview of H&M FAA 2012 collection:

My personal favorites are the tribal bustier, acid short jeans and the tribal legging! I'm so going to check myself inside H&M this weekend and try them up! Well at least, if I'm buying, they will go to charity. H&M confirms that 25% of its revenues will be given to AIDS/HIV awareness projects.

In addition to that, you can also help by donating uploading your kiss . JOIN!!!!!! Go to the link and upload your kiss. H&M will donate to HIV/AIDS prevention for every upload $1! I, myself uploaded the picture which was taken before I got married! It's a picture with my parents .. I Love it so much..
Collection is out April 26th 2012. Go check your nearest H&M stores or online and support Fashion Against AIDS!

Channeling Coachella 2012

What's Coachella for those of you who don't know!?

Coachella is an annual 3 days music, art festival which takes place @ Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. It's one of those festivals where you can find not only big names in music industry but also lots of celebrities wandering around, celebrating the atmosphere! For me personally, Coachella is an event to spot amazing outfits!

If you've been surfing around to check out the outfits surrounding Coachella, you definitely find lots of thumbs up and also some which you might be thinking.."* WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU WEARING"!*??

Browsing through the Coachella's 2012 (week 1) gallery, I've chosen some of my favorites! From celebrities' look, my main pick goes to model Dree Hemingway! I fell in  when I saw her in Mulberry Pool Party with the Dolce and Gabbana bustier and skirt. She was not trying too hard with all the 'hippies' wannabe look. Keep it simple but still playful, fresh, chic and ofcourse.. festival street style!
Second one is Kate Bosworth. That girl knows how to bring the hotness of 'street' outfit! The white flowery blouse she wore on the 4th picture is to die for.

The main offender for me is Vanessa Hudgens. Looking at how she dressed up.. she seemed like a 'hippie' wannabe or whatever it was (especially with that 'indian's hat!?!? the make up... OMG) so not natural for her (even Paris Hilton looks normal compares to her)! If she kept it simple, I bet she would look fabulous!
But in general, Coachella is a fashion ground! I've put on a collage of outfits which bring the energy of Coachella alive!
Though Coachella 2012 has ended, it's the sign for the start of festival's season throughout the world! In Holland itself, there will be numerous festivals starting from this April (unfortunately I'll be going to none though I would love to go to Lowlands this year since BLOC PARTY is playing!). Well as tickets are sold out and money is low .. I'll be just putting 5 list of outfits/accessories that represent the 'festival' life (besides all the necessary like rain boots, rain coats, etc):

1. Short denim pants
2. Chuck Taylor All Start (the older the better)
3. Tank Top
4. Hairbands
5. Sunglasses

Thumbs up for you guys who are going to any festival in 2012! Don't forget to enjoy dressing up.. :)

Introducing.....

MULBERRY FIRST SNEAKERS!
(and it's FABULOUS!)

Unfortunately, we have to wait a while before getting it (unlike some 'lucky' one as below example: Kate Bosworth wore it @ Coachella Mulberry Pool Party). WANT IT!

But until then.. fall 2012 it is... ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Spotlight: Rebecca Minkoff

Over the past years, Rebecca Minkoff has gained a lot of recognitions from fashion lovers. San Diego born Rebecca started designing and sewing clothes from elementary through high school and with her passion towards fashion, she then decided to pursue her fashion career in New York.

Rebecca's fame started to raise in 2005 when she introduced her purse line. Her main focus was to create purses that fit well day and night in all types of outfits and main important thing .. FASHIONABLY AFFORDABLE!

Since then, Rebecca Minkoff's hand bags can be spotted everywhere! The Minkette's community has been getting bigger and bigger.. even A-list celebrities are part of the Minkette's.

So what is the top-notch of Rebecca Minkoff's collection? Truly, I can't pick one, too many that I like.. But if I have to choose from her latest line.. here are my top list:

1. Circle Quilt Swint
Classic style (black - chain, reminds me to Chanel to some extend but in a more young and playful way)

2. M.A.C (all of them.. mini or standard size)
This is one essential to have Minkoff's collection. For me personally, I really like the Ostrich Embossed M.A.C. Bombe and the Perf Weave M.A.C. (like what Jennifer Lawrence has)! So adorbs...

Ostrich Embossed M.A.C. Bombe

Perf Weave M.A.C

3. 5-Zip Clutch
Last but not least.. the super cute 5-Zip Clutch! Simple but has the edgy look! Love it..

Well, other than all those amazing bags, I'm also in love with the Bardot Sandals. It has 3 different colors.. (and I admit I want them all)! They are perfect for summer!

Arghhh.. more list to check when I'm off to NYC next month! :) :) til' then, I will just browse through the website and day dream of being a Minkette!

Celebrity Crush: Jennifer Lawrence

I've noticed Jennifer from The Winter's Bone and have since love her.. and ofcourse since I'm a big Hunger Games' fan, can't help it to even like her more!

What I love about Jennifer Lawrence is that she does not seem to fall on the 'standard' Hollywood wannabe actress! She doesn't seek for attentions, very much comfortable with herself and trying to live life ordinary. One other thing.. she's one healthy woman (not trying to be a 'stick' as everyone else)! In addition to that, OMG..her face is gorgeous, she has the 'classical' look which is to die for. Even without makeup, I find her so cute!

Talking about her fashion sense, she knows exactly what's good and not for her! Red carpets for Jennifer always end up as FLAWLESS results and in daily life, she is more on the simplicity side)!

Check out the below list of Jennifer's looks for her Hunger Games Promotional Tour. I can't pick which one I love the best but I definitely love what she wore for the London, Good Morning America and Madrid event!

All of that in combination with her acting skills.. she's definitely one to watch for......
